Cross-cultural Business Awareness – Course Details

Duration
2 days

What is this course about?
Working across different business cultures, within one company, within a joint venture or in a partnership or a consortium, in different countries is highly challenging and translating one’s skills in management and leadership into a cross-cultural environment is difficult and requires thought and preparation.

This course is designed to initiate new managers and senior executives into the new world or to help them adjust better to an environment that has been developed over a number of years. The whole range of concepts of objective settings, direction, review and reward is rather easily thought to be transferable from one business culture to another and one of the objectives of the courses is to ensure that little is taken for granted and every part of one’s management style is analysed.

We look at all the critical issues that face companies in getting the best out of what is often seen as a problem but which we see as a real opportunity if handled the right way.

We start with the skills and experience that people already have but may not be aware of and build on that positive starting point, bringing out the opportunities and the challenges in a way that gives people greater confidence.

The result is that the people who have been on the course are equipped to examine how they work in such an environment and they learn to grow in surprising ways. We focus on creating a framework rather than a set of rules so that what is learnt can be transferred into different activities as the company changes.
